The Beehive Design Collective Presents “Dismantling Monoculture: Globalization and Resistance in the Americas”

May 2, 2006 @ 7:00 pm 9:00 pm EDT

Join the Beehive Collective for a high-energy picture-lecture. According to the The Beehive Collective:  Dismantling Monoculture is an anthology of three educational, visual narratives that illuminate the connections between colonization, militarization, and industrial development in the Americas. To create the graphics, the Beehive interviewed hundreds of community members about the effects of globalization on their lives. The Bees craft these stories into visual metaphors, weave them together in a patchwork “quilt,” and lead audiences through a larger-than-life banner version of the graphic”. The Beehive Collective is an all-volunteer non-profit graphics workshop who’s mission is to cross pollinate the grassroots by creating iconic imagery that can be used as popular education and organizing tools.
