What’s An Eclipse?

In preparation for the spectacular event coming on Monday April 8th. Dr. Valerie Rapson, astrophysicist at SUNY Oneonta, explains what creates an eclipse, why the view is different in different areas, the effect on animals, and more. She also talks about her research on “exoplanets,” and why the term astrophysicist is slowly replacing the term astronomer. And, oh yeah, how she’ll be viewing the eclipse with — a disco ball! Visit suny.oneonta.edu/science-outreach-activities/science-discovery-center for info on how to join her. Produced by Brea Barthel for Hudson Mohawk Magazine.
