Supporting BIPOC museum & arts professionals

Hear about Museum Hue, a nonprofit organization based in Brooklyn with a national presence that supports BIPOC folks involved in, or interested in, careers in museums and arts-related professions. Programs include “Hue-niversity” trainings to help aspiring, new, or early-career professionals. Advocacy training helps participants understand the options and considerations for advocating with public officials for support of arts in general as well as individual institutions. Sierra Van Ryck deGroot, Deputy Director, notes that Museum Hue has over 400 organizational members — from small historic house museums to Smithsonian and other large institutions — as well as individual members, both BIPOC and non-BIPOC allies.
