Getting Salty this Winter and it’s Wreaking Havoc

With the snow beginning to fall, you may automatically break out the road salt for clear roads and sidewalks. Sounds like the average start of a NY winter, but have you ever stopped to think about the greater impact this use may have on the environment? Meg Kelly interviewed John Garver, professor of geology at Union College, for Hudson Mohawk Magazine. This interview looks at the deeper and lasting impacts road salt can have on our environment and how we can reduce this impact.
