Folklore Festival October 1st

You are invited to enjoy New York Folklore’s annual Folklife Festival on October 1st in Albany’s Washington Park. Anne Rappaport Berliner, the staff Folklorist, describes the many performers, demonstrators, musicians, and activities all happening at the Festival. Hear about tasting a variety of international foods, as well as trying crafts including Chinese paper-cutting, Afghan kite making and flying, and even Double Dutch jump-roping. Anne also invites folks to submit stories, recipes, photo essays, and such for the organization’s journal. For more information and a full schedule of festival activities, visit www.nyfolklore.org or stop by New York Folklore’s gallery and shop at 129 Jay St. in Schenectady. Produced by Brea Barthel for Hudson Mohawk Magazine, who hopes to see you at the festival!
