Dancing in the Streets of Troy for FlagSSS Day 2023

FlagSSS Day is a celebration of all flags, a day of joy, a day to dance in the streets… This year’s parade drew a crowd of joyous people with flags and outfits of all kinds. Organized by Hana van der Kolk, Angela Beallor, and Elizabeth Press (EP), FlagSSS Day began in 2019 and has since organized other events like As the Crow Flies. This year FlagSSS Day received a grant to commission artists to create flags (stay tuned for a story on those artists). Hudson Mohawk Magazine’s Sina Basila Hickey reports.
