Albany Common Council Update 9 – 7

At the September 7 Albany Common Council meeting, the public comment period was flooded with advocates for the city’s homeless population. Last month, the council proposed resolution 88.82.23R to discourage residents from giving money to panhandlers. This excerpt is just a portion of the activists and advocates that came forward to speak against the resolution, which at the meeting was ‘held’, meaning it was not voted on, but also not withdrawn.
