What Is Going On With The Mobile Parks In New York

Betz Clair, an organizer, advocate and a resident of the Candlestick Mobile Home Park talks to HMM about how the lot rent is spiraling out of the realm of affordable housing once the park was purchased by Lakeshore Management. In addition to the rent increase, there has been a reduction of the services and the maintenance of the park is slipping away. The residents have decided to organize, and with the help of Manufactured Housing Action (MHAction.org) they have formed a tenant’s association to address the changes in the park. HMM will follow up with the residents of Candlestick Mobile Home Park.
