“The Inheritance” Showing in Albany

On Tuesday May 10, as part of Labor History month, the Albany County Central Federation of Labor and Capital District Area Labor Federation will screen the film “The Inheritance” at the Labor Temple, 890 3rd St, Albany. The film shows what life was really like for immigrants and working Americans from the turn of the century through the fight for civil rights in the 1960s. This stirring history of our country shows their struggle to put down roots, form labor unions, survive wars, and finally, create a new and better life for themselves and our nation. Bill Ritchie, the past president of the Albany County Center Labor Federation and long time head of the local teacher’s union, spoke with Hudson Mohawk Magazine’s Mark Dunlea and Sally Becker about the film.
