Stand Against Racism with Archie

Shirey Archie was profiled in a recent story in the Times Union for his Stand Against Racism campaign for the past eight years, as a silent, relentless witness for racial justice. The 74-year-old Vietnam War veteran and former state worker stands alongside Madison Avenue, Lark Street, Delaware Avenue and other busy thoroughfares holding a 3-foot-by-4-foot handmade sign that reads: “Stand Against Racism.”

He spoke with correspondents Sally Becker and Mark Dunlea.
