Building Community One Stitch at a Time

The Stitching Exchange brings together volunteers and women who are new arrivals to the United States to build community, learn one another’s languages, and share sewing skills. Hudson Mohawk Magazine correspondent Corinne Carey spoke with Melissa Sarris who started the Stitching Exchange about the project, its time-bank philosophy, and their upcoming party on September 24.
