HMM Norlite Town Hall Special

Hudson Mohawk Magazine for July 3, 2020 featuring a rebroadcast of the virtual Norlite Town Hall Meeting produced by The Sanctuary for Independent Media on June 22, 2020.

The Norlite incinerator in Cohoes has been burning toxic waste for decades. What is the health impact of their operations on the surrounding communities throughout the New York Capital Region, southwestern Vermont, northwestern Massachusetts and beyond?

Cohoes Mayor William T. Keeler, longtime Saratoga Sites apartment resident Joe Ritchie, Dr. David Carpenter of the Albany School of Public Health, David Bond from Bennington College and former EPA Region 2 Administrator Judith Enck came together online for a discussion of this important issue. The moderator is Hudson Mohawk Magazine correspondent Corinne Carey.

This event was co-sponsored by Lights Out Norlite and the Hudson Mohawk Environmental Action Network.
