#LessIsMore: the Community Supervision Revocation Reform Act

The Katal Ceneter for Health Equity and Justice is hosting an event at the Sanctuary for Independent Media on Thursday, November 21, from 6-7pm. The event is to raise awareness about the #LessIsMore campaign for Parole and Probation Reform. A piece of legislation called the Community Supervision Revocation Reform Act(S.1343B – Benjamin / A.5493A – Mosley) would eliminate reincarceration for technical parole violations, such as missing curfew. Only 14% of parolees who are reincarcerated are sent back to jail for a new crime. Communities of color would especially benefit from this bill.
