Cohoes Residents to Albany Executive Dan McCoy: Sign the Clean Air Bill

At a press conference held on August 26th, residents of Cohoes who live near the Norlite incinerator urged Albany County Executive Dan McCoy to sign the Albany County Clean Air Law.

Joe Ritchie is a full-time university student who grew up at Saratoga Sites, the public housing complex next to Norlite.

Chris Sevinsky holds a PhD in biochemistry and is raising four children with his wife, just under a mile from Norlite.

Hear these residents discuss why they are urging County Executive Dan McCoy to sign the Albany County Clean Air Law, which would prohibit the burning of tires, AFFF, plastics, electronic waste, low-level radioactive waste, pharmaceutical waste, and any other new waste streams. It would also prohibit the construction of new waste facilities in Albany County. McCoy has until September 11th to sign the bill.
