Albany Legislature Holds Public Hearing on County-Level Clean Air Act

The Albany County Legislature held a public hearing on the Albany Clean Air Act on November 19 at the Albany County Courthouse. Several members of the town of Coeymans were present to urge the passage of the local law to protect their community from LafargeHolcim burning tires in their cement kilns. LafargeHolcim put money into the November election to unseat the proponents of the Coeymans’ Clean Air Law from the town board. Coeymans residents fear that when the new town administration begins in January, the Clean Air Law will be repealed.HMM’s Alexis talks with Tina Lieberman, the education chair of the Sierra Club.
