NATURE Lab Workshop: Down and Dirty- A Celebration of Soil! with “Symphony of the Soil” with Filmmaker Deborah Koons Garcia

It’s the UN’s “International Year of Soils” and we’re having a party to educate, inspire, and celebrate- featuring workshops on bio-remediation, composting, soil testing and lot reclaimers, plus environmental documentary, Symphony of the Soil (2012) presented by filmmaker Deborah Koons Garcia. Learn nio-remediation techniques and how to test your soil. Build a compost bin and get tips on how to use compost in your garden. We’ll also cover how to acquire your own lot, and designing a permaculture garden. Followed by a Troy Lot Reclaimers Presentation with Pecha Kucha-like presentations from Scott Kellogg, the Cubits/Troy Salvage and Deconstruction, Sid Fleischer, Howard Stoner, Simon Burke-Lipicjky, Jack Magai, Troy Little League, Andrew Lynn, Colie Collen/ Flower Scout, Oliver Kellhammer and more, representing a diversity of inspiring ways local Trojans are reclaiming formerly vacant lots. In partnership with iEAR Presents!, Troy Zero Waste, Transition Troy, RADIX and Vasudha Living and Learning Community and more.
