Fourth Annual StoryHarvest: A Celebration of Art and Food from Seed to Table with Alex Torres & His Latin Orchestra and Nation Beat

September 27, 2014 @ 3:30 pm 7:30 pm EDT

Just as farmers reap the harvest, providing sustenance for all, it’s time to celebrate all our harvests–the results of seeds sown through art, education, agriculture, tolerance, and everything we do to build strong, healthy communities! Join us at Freedom Square (101st Street where 5th and 6th Avenues meet), for our Fourth Annual StoryHarvest, featuring food, music, and arts activities. With performances featuring Alex Torres and His Latin Orchestra and Nation Beat. Alex Torres and His Latin Orchestra take the stage at 3:30 PM, performing their amazing original blend of Afro-Caribbean rhythms including salsa, merengue, cha-cha, bomba, plena and Latin jazz. At 5 PM, the band Nation Beat brings on their 21st century mash-up of the thunderous grooves of northeastern Brazil fused with the strolling swagger of New Orleans funk. The celebration continues until sundown.
