Be The Media! Workshop with Nano Stern: Music and Social Movements

October 29, 2017 @ 4:00 pm 5:30 pm EDT

Chilean singer/songwriter, instrumentalist and composer Nano Stern’s style is a unique fusion of jazz, rock, folk and traditional Chilean music. This workshop explores the global state of music for social change, focusing on the neuva canción tradition in South America.

Nano Stern, a Chilean singer and songwriter, smiles upwards while playing a guitar. The words "Workshop at the Sanctuary lead by Nano Stern" are imposed upon the image.

Be the Media! workshops teach multimedia skills to community members to develop urgently needed independent local voices. Our goal is to empower the public through independent media making, supplying them with the tools to tell their own stories through different mediums of media including video, radio and journalism.

We are committed to lowering the barriers to access for events at The Sanctuary for Independent Media. For people who are hard of hearing or deaf, blind or low-vision, or whose physical limitations can interfere with a satisfying experience, let us know two weeks in advance so we can make appropriate arrangements.
