Be The Media! with Brenda Ann Kenneally: The Art of Studio Portraiture

Learn the craft of studio portraiture in a “hands-on” community workshop to create free studio portraits for North Troy families.
Assist internationally-known photojournalist Brenda Ann Kenneally as she creates free studio portraits for families in in North Troy in this “Hands-on Studio Portraiture” workshop. Kenneally’s deep connections with Upstate Girls, and families in the North Troy community, will form the basis of this workshop. Together, we will celebrate the holiday season! While families wait for their turn getting their photo taken, we’ll have arts activities in the main Sanctuary space.
Be The Media! workshops teach multimedia skills to community members in order to develop urgently needed independent local voices. Our goal is to empower the public through independent media making, supplying them with the tools to tell their own stories through different mediums of media including video, radio and journalism.
We are committed to lowering the barriers to access for events at The Sanctuary for Independent Media. For people who are hard of hearing or deaf, blind or low-vision, or whose physical limitations can interfere with a satisfying experience, let us know two weeks in advance so we can make appropriate arrangements.
