Bassekou Kouyate and Ngoni Ba

March 24, 2010 @ 7:00 pm 9:00 pm EDT

From the Palace to the People: A Global Griot Saves a West African Tradition with Rock ‘n’ Roll Revelations and Blues Muses! Bassekou Kouyate is a virtuoso picker and musical visionary from Mali who blurs the lines between West African and American roots music. His work with banjo maverick Bela Fleck just won a Grammy award and his new release is I Speak Fula, on Sub Pop Records.

This tour is presented in collaboration with World Music Institute and is funded in part by the National Endowment for the Arts.

To all the rock ‘n’ rollers of the USA, I’m coming!”
