Michael Monasterial’s “Sam Cooke: Where You Been Baby?”

October 29, 2010 October 30, 2010 EDT

The Sanctuary is proud to present a new musical production of an original historical play by Michael Monasterial illuminating the life and musical genius of singer and Civil Rights movement pioneer Sam Cooke, who wrote, performed and produced dozens of hits during almost a decade at the top of the pop music charts. His early years in Mississippi, the rise to fame and the demons that ultimately lead to his untimely demise are explored in this drama, but it is well seasoned with humor, pathos and most of all great music. Singer Abby Lappen will open for the opening night’s gala event.

The play will be performed on both October 29, and October 30, 2010.
