NY Folklore reception 2-23-23

You’re invited to a reception on February 23rd to honor Capital Region folk and traditional artists receiving grants form the New York State Council on the Arts. Ellen McHale, executive director of New York Folklore, and Anne Rappaport-Berliner, the staff folklorist, talk about the event, their organization, and some of the many arts and traditions to be celebrated. These include Ghanian drumming, classical Indian music, African American hair braiding, and lots more. Reservations are required. For details and to register, visit nyfolklore.org.
