DEC Goodyear Whistleblower Dylan Keenan

Dylan Keenan, an engineer for DEC in Albany, was loaned out to the Western Region office to help with the renewal on the long-expired air pollution permit for Goodyear Chemicals in Niagara Falls. He found that Goodyear had provided false data for its air permit renewal but even then they far exceeded the legal level for a toxic air pollutant. DEC, while not contesting his findings, fired him for continuing to discuss the matter with the federal EPA after being told to keep quiet. The winner of the NYS Environmental Justice Hero Award, Dylan discusses the situation with Mark Dunlea for Hudson Mohawk Magaine.
