Tenants Rally in Albany vs HUD Cuts, To Expand Rent Control

On Tuesday, May 20 justice advocates and tenants rallied on the steps of Albany City Hall to demand urgent action in response to federal housing cuts and to call on New York State to strengthen protections for renters and the homeless.
The action was part of a national day of action organized by the Right to the City Coalition to bring attention to the devastating impact of proposed HUD funding cuts, and growing housing insecurity across NYS. Issues included defense of public housing and section 8 programs and expansion of rent stabilization statewide.
