Migrant Justice Demands Hannaford Join The Program

On July 19th, farmworkers and their allies, organized by Migrant Justice, picketed the Hannaford supermarket in Glens Falls, New York. The demonstration called on the company to join the Milk With Dignity program, which asks the chain to only stock dairy in their stores from farms where workers are treated well and their rights are not infringed on. Benno Greene went to this demonstration and talked with two dairy farm workers, Yovani and Enrique, about the difficulties and injustices they face at work, why the Milk With Dignity program is important, and how national politics is affecting their workplaces and activism. Since Yovani and Enrique primarily speak Spanish, the interview was conducted with Rachel Elliot of Migrant Justice translating.
