Love Your Block 2025 Update

If you live in the city of Albany, listen up! The city’s “Love Your Block” program offers a wide variety of programs to help residents with soil testing, bucket gardens, emergency prepredness, and much more. Erin Johanns, the Love Your Block Fellow (and the Sanctuary’s former Collard City Growers coordinator!) overviews the progam’s purpose and activities, plus explains how volunteers can help with everything from screen repairs to garden help for individuals and even at Giffen Elementary School. For more info you can email Erin ([email protected]), call her (518-434-5281), stop by the booth at the Radix Ecological Sustainability Center on Earth Day, April 19th, or visit the website at www.albanyny.gov/2163/Love-Your-Block. Produced by Brea Barthel for Hudson Mohawk Magazine.
