Armao on the Brink: Summer Short with Dana Williams

Dana Williams was one of about 1,000 Voice of America employees put on administrative leave in March and then fired as the Trump administration has shuttered the 80-year-old Voice of America. A newspaper woman with experience in Florida and Guam Williams loved her job as overnight web editor for the service based in Guam. She saw no fraud and waste — just reporters in places like Kenya taking personal risks to collect information and.co-workers insuring that China, Russia, and parts of Europe where a free press does not exist heard real news. She’s sure she’ll find a new pursuit. She’s not so sure about press freedom in the US and beyond.
