Lansingburgh Library Books and News

Hear about three very different books recommended by Michael Gregg, library associate for the Troy Public Library. “Satan Is Real: The Ballad of the Louvin Brothers” (Charlie Louvin with Benjamin Whitmer, 2012) tells the story of “one of the most legendary country duos of all time.” A young adult book “The Skull: A Tyrolean Folktale” (Jon Klassen, 2023) develops the story of a young girl drawn to a lonely house where the host is a talking disembodied skull, and how the girl must save them both. Finally, Michael calls “The Stench of Honolulu” (2013), by former SNL writer Jack Handey, a “laugh-out-loud funny” fictional story of two friends on a quest for a Golden Monkey in the mysterious land of Honolulu. He also mentions “Every Man for Himself and God Against All: A Memoir” (Werner Herzog, 2023). On a more serious note, Michael explains why the Lansingburgh branch of the library is temporarily closed due to recent flooding. For more details, visit www.thetroylibrary.org.
