Kids Books for June

Interested in exploring lots of ways to mark the passing of a year? Or how pollinators find pollen? Want to learn of the challenges of being a gay Muslim woman in Jordan? Or hear about a graphic novel in which a “scary ghostly St. Valentine” puts a love curse on a family? Carol Roberts, head of Young People’s Services at Troy Public Library, tells us about these four books. (Can you guess which one is non-fiction?) Books discussed: “365: How to Count a Year” (Paul, ill. Chung, 2023); “Before the Seed: How Pollen Moves” (Buhrman-Deever, ill.Triplett & Curtius, 2024); “From Here: A Memoir” (Mufleh, 2023); and “Lunar New Year Love Story” (Yang, ill. Pham, 2024).
