Home Care Attendants Organize Hunger Strike Against 24 – Hour Workdays

Home care attendants, many of them elderly women, held a week-long hunger strike outside of NYC City Hall to protest being required to work 24-hour days for only 13 hours of pay. The Ain’t I A Women Campaign has been pushing for the NYC City Council to pass legislation to stop this abusive work practice after similar legislation has stalled in the state legislature. Campaign organizer Kathy Lu talks with Mark Dunlea for Hudson Mohawk Magazine.
