Africana Film Series in Albany

Hear about the free Africana Film Series that returns to the Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences starting 2/6 for its nineteenth year. The series organizer, Africana Studies Associate Professor Kevin Hickey, talks with Hudson Mohawk Magazine’s Brea Barthel about the three films that explore issues of independence and justice in Africa and its diaspora. Those are “Twist à Bamako” (“Dancing the Twist in Bamako”; Mali, 2021) on Tues 2/6; “Un Fils” (“A Son”;Tunisia, 2021) on Tues 2/13; and “Marighella” (Brazil, 2019) on Tues 2/20.
