Activists Protest Saratoga’s Plan to Hire Fmr. Troy Officer Jarrod Iler

Saratoga Springs had plans of hiring former Troy police officer Jarrod Iler, who shot unarmed Dahmeek McDonald in 2017. After pushback, Saratoga Springs Commissioner of Public Safety Tim Coll announced that they are no longer trying to push through this hire. Questions around this have rallied much debate. Should cops that shoot unarmed people be able to get hired by other police forces?

Today we bring you Troy for Black Lives activists Massiah Rhodes, Akiva Benbow and Luz Marquez who spoke out against the hire.
