Talking Early Encouragement, Social Change, and Current Creativity with Billy Stanley

Last week, I talked to Billy Stanley about starting to write when he was young growing up in Louisiana, and living in an art gallery with pet pigs as an adult.

This week we continue our conversation and discuss family encouraging his art and writing and other influences that kept him going, poetry as a tool for social change, and what he is creative currently working on.

We conclude with another poem that Billy read when he was the featured poet at Poets Speak Loud on March 27, 2006 ,at the Lark Tavern.
