The Grand Opening of South End Grocery

On Monday, December 27, 2022, Hudson Mohawk Roaming Labor Correspondent Willie Terry attended the South End Grocery grand opening at 106 South Pearl Street, Albany, New York. The South End Grocery is owned by the African American Cultural Center, the first charity-controlled grocery store to provide equitable access to healthy produce and groceries to the downtown South Pearl neighborhood. In this labor segment, Willie interviewed the director of the grocery Travon Jackson, and Albany County District 2 Legislator Merton D. Simpson about the importance of the store.
