Solidarity Committee Honors Activist Leaders At Labor Day Picnic

The Solidarity Committee of the Capital District held its annual Labor Day picnic at Cook Park in Colonie of Monday September 4. A highlight of the event was the presentation of various awards. Ibrahim Pedrinan, head of the Albany Central Labor Federation and the Postal Workers Union, received the Union Leadership award, Albany City Councilmember Joyce Love received the Legislative Leadership award, Tracy Frisch the Environmental Activist award and Paul “Batman” Collins-Hackett the Civil Rights award. Doug Bullock served as Emcee. Our audio coverage begins with remarks by Ashley Saupp of the Save the Burdett Birth Center coalition, followed by Tracy and Paul. We finish with remarks by Congressmember Paul Tonko.
