Shania Jackson on Spoken Word and Black History

Shania Jackson originates from Troy, is the secretary of Troy NAACP, and is a spoken word artist. This Saturday Shania will perform spoken word during the Troy Black History Month Celebration at the Sanctuary. She came onto Hudson Mohawk Magazine to speak with Sina Basila Hickey about her connection to the spoken word, what’s missing from Black history, and the freedom of poetry.
