The Radix Ecological Sustainability Center in Albany’s South End is holding a pawpaw tasting on Thursday, Oct. 12 at 6:00 PM. The pawpaw is a tree native to North America that produces large fruits that taste like a blend of banana, mango, and vanilla custard. Uncommon in upstate New York and resistant to commodification, Radix has produced a large crop of this “anti-capitalist fruit” this year. Scott Kellogg of Radix talks with Mark Dunlea of Hudson Mohawk Magazine. Radix is located at 153 Grand Street in Albany.
