“HooDoo Love” with Jean-Remy Monnay

The Black Theatre Troupe of Upstate New York’s newest production is “HooDoo Love.” Founder of the Troupe, Jean-Remy Monnay speaks with Hudson Mohawk Magazines’ Andrea Cunliffe group’s mission, which is to present compelling theatrical experiences that create community dialogue and give voice to societal concerns as they relate to racial injustice and black trauma.

“HooDoo Love,” set in 1933 in Memphis, is a tale of love, magic, jealousy, and secrets. Written in vivid language that captures the blues, “Hoodoo Love” debuts at in Albany at the Capital Rep from June 1 – 11, 2023.
