Arts Center’s Black Photography Exhibit

Hear about the latest exhibit at the Arts Center of the Capital Region, and a reception for it on 9/27. “Life Through the Lens” features 40+ photographs by ten Black artists. Cliff Oliver, esteemed local photographer and the show’s curator, talks about the importance of Black people as creators not just subjects in others’ works. He also discusses the importance of the 50-year-old nonprofit Black Dimensions in Art, shares notes on the process of curating an art exhibit, and invites listeners to a reception with many of the photographers on Friday 9/27, 6-8 pm, as part of Troy Night Out. The exhibit is now open, and runs to October 27th, at ACCR, 265 River St., Troy. For more information, visit www.artscenteronline.org. Produced by Brea Barthel for Hudson Mohawk Magazine.
