Troy Library May books (Youth)

Did you know young readers of graphic novels have a broader vocabulary than kids who read just books of text? Hear about that and more from Carol Roberts, Youth Services librarian at Troy Public Library, talking about books with Hudson Mohawk Magazine producer Brea Barthel. Recommended books include some to celebrate Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month. Upcoming activities include an “Early Reading Extravaganza” on May 21st, and help for exploring college, for high school juniors and seniors, starting in June. For more details, visit thetroylibrary.org. Books discussed: “Have You Ever Seen a Flower?” (Shawn Harris, 2021); “Saving Sorya: Chang and the Sun Bear” (Trang Nguyen, 2021); and “Hello, Dark” (Wai Mei Wong, 2021).
