Refugee Support & Justice Event at Opalka

“Babylon: Journey of Refugees,” a filmed stage performance by the Sandglass Theater Company in Vermont, tells the intertwining stories of 5 different refugee journeys, told through the art of beautiful stage puppetry, and all based on true stories that were shared by resettled individuals and families through the Vermont USCRI. This film will be shown as part of the Refugee Support & Justice Event at Opalka Gallery on Saturday, July 23rd.
Gemma Halfi, Associate Director of Equity and Inclusion at Emma Willard, and Ali Schaeffing, Director of Service Learning and Community Engagement at Russell Sage College, spoke with Sina Basila Hickey about this event and local organizing around refugee issues.
You can find details on the event on facebook as Capital District Refugee Community Day
