Menn on Move to Change Troy’s Redistricting Commission

On Thursday, February 17, the Troy City Council will hold the first of three public hearings on a local law that would amend the city charter to change the composition of Troy’s first-ever Independent Redistricting Commission. The proposed local law, sponsored by Council President Carmella Mantello, would add three additional members to the 7-member Commission. HMM correspondent Corinne Carey spoke with Emily Menn, who represents District 4 on the Council, about the local law and what it means for Troy’s voters. Listeners can watch live or learn more about the hearing on February 17 — and the two future hearings — by visiting www.troyny.gov/government/city-council/agenda-minutes/ or calling the city clerk at 518-279-7134.
