Gates on Caring for Pets During The Pandemic

Unconditional love. During a year filled with loss, isolation, and uncertainty, many people have found great comfort in the companionship of their pets. Since the outbreak of COVID-19, animal adoptions appear to be on the rise, and with many working from home, it might seem that our furry friends have got it made —however, with new restrictions on the way veterinarians and pet shelters are currently operating, there are things to consider before adding a dog or cat to your family. Hudson Mohawk Magazine producer Jeremy Clowe spoke with the Animal Protective Foundation Executive Director Austin Gates in Glenville to learn more about how things have changed for pets during the pandemic.
