Nano Stern
Music
Nano Stern is from Chile, but the political punk poet and singer-songwriter also spent time in Germany and studied music in the Netherlands. But Stern has always embraced his Chilean musical roots, blending classical, jazz and rock with Chilean revolutionary music. Folk legend Joan Baez has spoken highly of Stern, who she said “may be the best young Chilean songwriter of his generation.” Stern brings his “Festival of Color” tour to Troy’s Sanctuary for Independent Media this week. Local Afro-Latin performers Taina Asili & Gaetano Vaccaro will open the show. Stern will also lead a 4 p.m. workshop before the show. 7 p.m. Sunday. $15. The Sanctuary for Independent Media, 3361 Sixth Ave., Troy. 518-272-2390; https://www.mediasanctuary.org
