Volunteer Manager (Americorps VISTA)

Member Duties : The VISTA, serving as Volunteer Manager, will focus on: creating a system for coordinating volunteers and volunteer projects. So that at the end of VISTA cycle, the Sanctuary for Independent Media will have a system for the volunteer lifecycle, including recruitment, engagement, retention, and transition to supporter. The specific duties of the position include: Create tools for onboarding and orienting new interns and volunteers. Research best practices in volunteer development and recognition Conduct research on the experiences of past and current volunteers to identify areas for improvement Collaborate with other community organizations and existing volunteer recruitment platforms to maximize success and share resources Build tools to capture experiences of departing interns and volunteers with goal of moving them towards becoming donors

About the Program/Position

The Center for Academic Community Engagement at Siena College (ACE) recruits candidates from around the United States to serve with community-based organizations that work to alleviate poverty in the Capital District. You will have the opportunity to work on capacity-building projects in education, health care, the environment, housing, criminal justice, and/or economic development. You will make an impact with a non-profit organization and the Capital Region by coordinating volunteer-led projects, conducting research, writing grants, and facilitating outreach. Based on your skills and interests, you will be matched with an organization for the year. You will be managed on-site by a supervisor, mentored by 2 VISTA Leaders, and trained by an experienced VISTA team. You will attend a Pre-Service Orientation, an On-Site Orientation, and ongoing training for your personal and professional growth. Additionally, our cohort model provides community and support to help you make the most of your service year experience. We are celebrating fifteen years of success and have had over 200 VISTAs complete the program. Become an ACE AmeriCorps VISTA Member and be a part of something bigger than yourself! NOTE: OUR VISTAs DO NOT LIVE ON CAMPUS AND ARE NOT REQUIRED TO BE SIENA COLLEGE GRADS. AmeriCorps Living Allowance for the 23-24 service year is $22,882 ($877.66 bi-weekly).
