Meghan Marohn

Meghan Marohn was a dedicated Sanctuarian who contributed immensely to the creativity, consciousness, curiosity and growth of our community. Her contributions to The Sanctuary for Independent Media are countless  — as a poet and artist, radio producer and community scientist, educator and healer. Above all Meg was a seeker. She reflected deeply upon the art of grieving, sharing stories, nurturing loved ones, opening minds, struggling for environmental survival, energetically connecting to earth and moon, and engaging in creative resistance.

In the summer of 2017, Meghan worked closely with the Uptown Summer youth program, teaching poetry, literature, and taking part in the filming of “Echoes for Lock One.” She was a part of the panel for “State of Science with CapSci!” and was the person to introduce Chris Hedges to the Sanctuary. Meghan also contributed heavily to Hudson Mohawk Magazine, including producing a weekly series with Dr. David Borton called Equality Under the Law: the Law of Physics.
Other notable things about Meghan Marohn are her environmental activism (working with Extinction Rebellion and Occupy Wall Street), her Troy Poem Project on an old typewriter, and being a teacher to many people.
