HMM 05 – 19 – 23

Today, on the Hudson Mohawk Magazine:

We begin with coverage of the Center for Law and Justice forum for an update on the case of Jordan Young, who was shot by Albany Police on January 22nd, 2022.

Then, we hear from Capital Region activist Noor and fellow organizer Daisy Cruz who have joined forces to organize around issues of family and parental custody.

Later on, Garrett McCarey speaks with Anthony Riddle from the BRIC Arts Media Center in Brooklyn, about the proposed Community Media Reinvestment Act.

After that, Brea Barthel interviews Daniel Butterworth, Executive director of Refugee & Immigrant Support Services of Emmaus (RISSE) in Albany, who notes that the Capital District has already seen an influx of asylum seekers from the Southern border, and expects to see more coming.

Finally, we head over to Collard City Growers during their first day of open garden hours.
