HMM 9 – 21 – 20

Hello Capital Region! This is the Hudson Mohawk Magazine on WOOC-LP 105.3 FM Troy and WOOS-LP 98.9 FM Schenectady broadcasting from The Sanctuary for Independent Media in Troy, NY.

Today, proposed changes to building, codes, and compliance in Albany may work to stabilize housing for tenants. Rebecca Garrard, statewide housing coordinator for Citizen Action, joins HMM to discuss the proposals.

Then, Project Drawdown outlines a portfolio of climate crisis solutions. We speak with Chad Frischmann, VP for Research with the project.

And later on, we continue our Labor series: Song, Struggle, and Solidarity with author Mark Abendroth in part two of four.

Last week, we played an excerpt of the defense’s opening statement from the Abelove trial at the Rensselaer County Courthouse. Today we’ll play an excerpt of the prosecutor Jen Sommer’s opening statement.

Finally, we speak with RPI alumni Leithe and current student Cora from the protests outside the Rensselaer County Courthouse.
