HMM 4 – 1-2020

Hello Capital Region! This is the Hudson Mohawk Magazine, broadcasting from the Sanctuary for Independent Media in Troy, NY.

Tonight, as the state legislature seeks to wrap up the state budget, we talk with Charles Kahn of Strong Economy for All about the effort to raise taxes on the rich to avoid massive cuts in state spending.

Then for our peace bucket, we talk with Linda Koshgarian of the National Priorities Project about the disparaties between the federal government’s spending on defense vs. public health

After that, Watervliet School Board member Amanda Cavanaugh talks to Corinne Carey about the “Vliet Never Gives Up” t-shirt initiative she launched to help support local restaurants and kids in need.

Then on Collar Works Radio we hear from artist Darian Longmire about how his work is being impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.

We finish with the Human Rights Campaign about the impact of COVID-19 on the LGBTQ+ community.
