Chris Carlson and “Nowtopia”: Practical Rebellion & A New Politics of Work

September 15, 2008 @ 7:00 pm 9:00 pm EDT

How do the Open Source software movement, bicycle subculture, guerilla gardening, and the Burning Man Festival fit together? Nowtopia (2008) author and Critical Mass co-founder Chris Carlsson connects these dots as he profiles the social networks that are cooperating outside of economic regulation and laying the foundation for a genuine movement of liberation from market life. The event will feature an installation by the Rhizome Collective. Valet bike parking available.

Co-sponsored by Troy Bike Rescue and the New York Bicycling Coalition.
